Transcription: The painting of the stories regarding the life of Jesus began with the baptism by Perugino and concluded with Botticelli's Temptations of Christ, treated as lesser scenes within the broader context of the purification of the leper. The tempting spirit is represented by a group of angels leading Jesus into the desert which in the fresco becomes a shady wood. Here, the devil appears to Christ dressed as a Franciscan, inviting him to turn the stones into bread.
